Sweet little Meadow, I had the privilege of photographing your parents’ wedding a few years ago. It was a most wonderful affair, full of love, joy, and fun. How thrilled I was when your mom called to tell me the news–a baby! I am so happy to be the one to take your newborn photos, your very first portraits.
One of my favorite families are back again with another awesome photo session! Last time we did a beautiful shoot in the country amongst rolling hills and fields of flowers; this time we decided to do something completely opposite, and embraced all the gritty urban splendor that Pittsburgh has to offer. I think that the clothing that Tanya coordinated for her family really complimented the urban/industrial setting, with the fun colors, textures, layers, and accessories–all the things that photographers dream that their clients will wear. Such a cool and fun family to work with!

WOW! These are all such gorgeous shots!
I love seeing my littlest subjects again as they sprout and grow. Little Sydney is 6 months old already, so her mom brought her to the studio for a Sitting Up Mini session. This is a great age for photos, because they are starting to show such great personality; plus they can sit up, but not crawl away yet. :)
You just have to love baby leg warmers!
There are some things that babies in the 6-9 month range do that I just love, one of them being playing with their toes. My daughter only played with her toes like this for a short time, maybe a month or two, and I wonder if other parents have found the same to be true about their babies. You’ll have to let me know in the comment section!

By far one of my most requested photos is the one of baby hanging from a branch. This image is a composite of two images; in reality I photographed little Jack suspended about an inch over a giant beanbag, with his grandma’s hand supporting his head. Safety is first in newborn photography!

Fuzzy hair, soft as a duckling. Tiny toes and little fingers. Contented sighs and loving gazes at the sweetest face they’ve ever seen. These are joys of a new baby…and I have the privilege of capturing it all.
