My Birthday Adventure

I’ve always dreamed of flying like a bird since I was little, dear Reader.  I imagined what it would be like, looking down on treetops, floating on the gentle breeze.  The feeling of utter freedom would be breathtaking.  Well, I am happy to say that finally had the chance to experience a taste of that freedom!  I received the best birthday gift last week from my mother-in-law, who took me on a hot air balloon ride!  It was just wonderful.  Now I can mark another big one off my bucket list!

I couldn’t believe that the humungous balloon fit into that little red bag…

You just can’t imagine how huge these balloons are until you see them in person.

I was sure that the balloon was going to catch fire when they started blowing the flame thrower.  But they what they were doing, of course!

Our pilot, Tim, was awesome.  He has been flying hot air balloons for 36 years, so we knew we were in good hands.  If you’d like to contact him and set up a ride of your own you can visit his website here.  Thanks Tim, and thank you, Shirley, for making one of my dreams come true!

Marcia - OH Sandy!!!! You lucky girl! That is on my bucket list as well… so amazing you go to do this. Wonderful!

Sandy - Marcia, it was so awesome! You have to go some day–sooner than later!

Kelly Chiodi - What a thrill. You did an amazing job capturing so many beautiful details. I particularly love the shadow and the reflection of the balloon on the ground. Terrific!

Taryn Boyd - so amazing and the pictures are outstanding!

Sandy - Thank you!! :)

Maria + Jason | St. Vincent Basilica Wedding

I seriously have the best clients, dear Reader.  I keep working with the nicest, coolest people!  How do I get so lucky?  Maria and Jason tied the knot at St. Vincent Basilica, followed by a reception at the Greensburg Country Club.  The day started out looking like a hurricane, but then the clouds parted and they were blessed with a beautiful day.

Jason loves roasting custom blends of coffee, and it was neat to see how they incorporated that into their wedding favors.  I believe he is working on starting up his own business, which I am sure you will hear about in the near future.  I love the cute message they had printed on the bags–they really are the perfect blend!

Maria and Jason, I had such a nice time with you – thanks for letting me be a part of your big day!  (((Hugs))) Sandy

Aaron - I LOVE these! My favorites are the portrait by the fence and those next two…just incredible. Awesome detail shots too!

Shirley Messaros - Thanks for sharing the photos you took of the wedding. They were really gorgeous.. I would recommend you to my friends.

Cranberry Wedding Photographer | Lindsay + Chris

What an awesome day I had with Lindsay and Chris, one of the nicest, coolest couples I’ve had the pleasure to work with.  And as an added bonus, their bridal party was awesome, too!

Chris and Lindsay’s wedding gifts to each other.

Lindsay’s dad was so sweet.  You could tell that it was difficult giving his little girl away.

Lindsay and Chris gave their photography priority, allowing extra time for photographs between the ceremony and reception.  As a result they were able to get so many great photos without feeling rushed.  Yay!

Love this image by Kevin.

Didn’t I tell you they were an awesome bridal party?  They were so much fun!

A few lovely details from their wedding day…

Lindsay and Chris, I had such a great time with you!  Congratulations and much happiness to you both!  (((Hugs))) Sandy

Jenny - Sandy, your work is gorgeous! It is impossible to name favorites because they are all so good. I LOVE the red shoe shot.

Sandy - Thank you, Jenny! :)

Phipps Conservatory Wedding | Richelle + Brandon

What a beautiful summer day for a wedding at Phipps Conservatory!  Richelle and Brandon had a sweet and intimate ceremony in the outdoor garden at Phipps, surrounded by their closest friends and family.

Richelle and Brandon decided to do a first look.  Those first moments were so sweet and emotional.

Wow, such blue eyes they both have!

Image below by Kevin.

The sweetest part of the ceremony was when they privately whispered vows to each other while members of their bridal party sang A Thousand Years by Christina Perri.  I don’t think there was a dry eye in the entire congregation.

Richelle and Brandon, it was truly a pleasure capturing the most important day in your life.  Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of it!  (((Hugs))) Sandy

Anna - The shot under the vines is to die for. Oh my goodness. and I am LOVING the little glass coasters! so sweet!

Sandy - Thank you, Jonny!

Sandy - Thanks, Anna! And I loved those coasters, too–so cute.

Pittsburgh Wedding Photographers | Anna & Steve

Anna and Steve tied the knot at Sacred Heart Parish in Shadyside, followed by a reception at the beautiful Succop Conservancy.  It was literally a hundred degrees at one point that day, but the heat didn’t stop everyone from having an amazing day!

I loved the fresh and summery citrus theme to their wedding details.

The Elite Show Band kept everyone dancing the whole night.  If you are looking for a great band for your wedding, give them a call–they are awesome!

Here’s a fun little gif I made to show you the crazy fun everyone had!
